How UreChem Ships Nationwide
Every UreChem order ships directly from our Perkinston, Mississippi manufacturing facility through our online store, thecoatingstore.com. Because we manufacture, batch, and warehouse under one roof, there is no regional jobber sitting between you and the paint — the gallon you spray came off the same line as the gallon shipped to the body shop two states over, which is what keeps batch-to-batch color and viscosity consistent.
Quart and gallon kits ship via ground freight in DOT-compliant packaging. Larger volume orders, drums, and any regulated-quantity hazmat shipments go LTL with the appropriate carrier documentation. Automotive refinish coatings are flammable and cannot legally ship by air, so everything routes ground — plan accordingly when scheduling a paint job.
Southeast
1–2 business days from our Mississippi facility for most ground orders.
Midwest / NE
3–5 business days typical transit for ground shipments.
West Coast
4–6 business days. LTL freight on volume orders may add a day.
Hazmat-Compliant
Ground only — DOT-compliant packaging on all parcel and LTL shipments.
Lower 48 only. UreChem currently ships to the contiguous 48 states and Washington, DC. We do not ship paint to Alaska or Hawaii.
Climate-Based Product Selection
Ambient temperature and humidity are not background variables — they directly determine whether a paint job lays down flat or fails. Reducers and activators are engineered for specific temperature ranges. Use a reducer that flashes too fast in 95-degree heat and you get dry spray, orange peel, and lost gloss. Use one that flashes too slow in a 60-degree booth and you get sags, runs, and clearcoat that never fully crosslinks. The chemistry is unforgiving in either direction.
Humidity matters just as much, especially during basecoat flash and clearcoat application. High-humidity environments trap moisture between coats, which can blush a basecoat, soften a clearcoat, or produce solvent pop as trapped vapor tries to escape the curing film. The fix is matching activator speed to the actual conditions in the booth, not the conditions on the calendar.
UreChem builds its reducer and activator lineup specifically so painters can match products to conditions rather than fighting them. Three reducer speeds and three activator speeds cover everything from a 55-degree morning in Vermont to a 100-degree afternoon in Phoenix.

Low-VOC & Regulated Markets
Automotive refinish coatings are regulated for volatile organic compound (VOC) content in a growing number of US markets. Painters in those markets need products that are compliant on the can, not just close to compliant. UreChem's low-VOC offering for these jurisdictions is the UC-421 Low-VOC 2K Urethane Clearcoat, formulated to meet the most common refinish VOC limits while still delivering the gloss and DOI body shops expect.
California
SCAQMD Rule 1151, BAAQMD rules, and statewide CARB regulations apply.
OTC States
NY, NJ, MD, DE, CT, RI, MA, VT, PA, VA, and DC — parallel VOC rules.
Metro Counties
Houston / Dallas TX and Chicago IL carry stricter local rules.
UC-421 Compliance
Our compliant 2K urethane clearcoat ships nationwide to these markets.
A practical application note: low-VOC clearcoats typically require three to four coats to achieve the same final film build that two to three coats of a conventional clear would deliver. Plan kit quantity and booth time around that math, not around the old assumption. We strongly recommend painters in regulated markets confirm the current local rule before purchase; federal guidance is published at epa.gov, and your state or district air quality agency will have the controlling specifics.
Regional Product Recommendations
The lower-48 map breaks cleanly into four practical painting zones. Each one has a typical product pairing that solves the dominant climate problem for that zone.
Hot & Dry Zones
Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, inland California, west Texas. Heat plus low humidity flashes solvents faster than the spray gun can lay them down — dry spray and orange peel are the failure modes. Use UR-012 slow reducer with the UR-42 slow activator; UC-210 MS Glamour gives more open time than UC-410 above 90°F.
Hot & Humid Zones
Florida, the Gulf Coast across LA/MS/AL, southeast Texas, and southern Georgia. Moisture in the air interrupts basecoat flash and traps under clear. Run UR-011 standard reducer with UA-40 fast activator to pull flash time down. Watch for solvent pop in heavier clears, and lighten coats past 85% RH.
Temperate Zones
Most of the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and Pacific Northwest. These are the conditions our defaults are tuned for. UR-011 standard reducer and UA-41 / UR-41 standard activator are the workhorses; UC-410 MS Performance is the fastest medium-solids clear to top-coat and ship out the door.
Cold Zones / Winter Painting
Northeast, upper Midwest, and Rockies. A heated booth is required below 65°F. Counterintuitively, the "slow" UR-012 reducer may not flash adequately at those temps — use UR-011 standard instead, and reach for UreChem TurboKure accelerator to speed cure when booth temperature is on the low end of acceptable.
Color Options Available Nationwide
Every UreChem color ships to every state we serve. The samples below pull a representative spread from each major car paint colors category so you can see what kind of finish each system produces; click any swatch to shop, or follow the "See all" link for the full palette. Hand-sprayed color charts are available in the color selectors' area of the store for any color you want to confirm before committing a gallon.
Metallic Colors
Metallic colors blend finely classified aluminum particles with pigment, giving you sparkle that shifts with the light. Generally easy to apply, durable, and a common starting point for new builders.
See all metallic colors →Pearl Colors — 2 Stage
Pearlescent pigments give colored shimmer rather than the silver flash of a metallic. Two-stage pearls run a pearl base under a protective clear. Excellent depth, moderate complexity.
See all 2-stage pearls →Pearl Colors — 3 Stage
Three-stage pearls run a solid base, a pearl midcoat, and a clear. The added midcoat is what gives factory-style depth on whites and pastels — and what makes the system more demanding to repair.
See all 3-stage pearls →Solid Colors
No sparkle, no shift — just rich, even hue. Solids are easier to apply, easier to repair, and less expensive than pearls or candies, with comparable longevity. Don't read "solid" as "boring"; the saturation range is huge.
See all solid colors →Candy Colors — 2K Urethane (EKU / EKB / EKK)
Candy paint colors are a three-step system: reflective base, transparent colored layer, then clear. Light enters, reflects, and re-passes through the candy layer on its way back out — that's what creates the depth nothing else matches.
Candy Graphic Series (KGC)
Pearlized candy bases formulated for panel graphics, custom artwork, and detailed taping work — fast flash time enables multi-color sequences without bleed-through.
See all candy colors →Chameleon / Color-Changing Colors
Chameleons start with a non-reflective (usually black) base, then a special pearl that shifts hue dramatically with viewing angle, then clear. Demanding to apply and repair, but they weather better than candies.

Volume buyers — independent body shops, restoration shops, fleet operations, and custom builders running through paint by the case — get pricing breaks beyond what's posted in the online store. Because every batch is manufactured at our Mississippi facility, you also get the batch-to-batch color consistency that matters when a job stretches across multiple gallons or you're matching a repair into existing panels.
For OEM matches and discontinued factory colors, our color-match service handles requests from spectro readings, paint codes, and physical samples — start with the custom color match request form, or browse our existing restoration paint colors first to see if we already have your match in stock. Yes — UreChem ships automotive paint, clearcoats, primers, and additives to all 48 contiguous US states plus Washington, DC, from our manufacturing facility in Perkinston, Mississippi. We do not currently ship to Alaska or Hawaii.
How long does shipping take to my state?
From Mississippi, typical ground transit is one to two business days throughout the Southeast, three to five business days through the Midwest and Northeast, and four to six business days to the West Coast. LTL freight on larger volume orders may add a day or two depending on carrier scheduling.
Can I buy UreChem paint in California, New York, or other low-VOC states?
Yes. Specify the UC-421 Low-VOC 2K Urethane Clearcoat for compliance with California (SCAQMD, BAAQMD, CARB) and the OTC member states (NY, NJ, MD, DE, CT, RI, MA, VT, PA, VA, and DC). Houston, Dallas, and Chicago metro counties also have stricter local rules. Confirm the current local regulation before purchase.
Do you have local dealers or retail stores?
No — UreChem ships direct from the manufacturer through our online store, thecoatingstore.com. Skipping the jobber network is what keeps pricing competitive and batch consistency tight from one order to the next.
Can I pick up paint directly from your Mississippi facility?
Yes, by appointment. Customers within driving distance of Perkinston, Mississippi can arrange direct facility pickup — call (601) 928-5197 ahead of time so we can have the order staged and ready.
What if I'm painting in extreme heat or cold — which products should I use?
In hot/dry conditions (90°F+, low humidity), pair UR-012 slow reducer with UR-42 slow activator and UC-210 MS Glamour clear to keep working time. In cold conditions (below 65°F), use UR-011 standard reducer with UA-40 fast activator and TurboKure accelerator, and run a heated booth. The full chart is in the Climate-Based Product Selection section above.
Do you offer volume or wholesale pricing for body shops?
Yes. Volume pricing is available for shops running through paint by the case, and net terms are available on approved business accounts. Contact us at (601) 928-5197 for a quote tailored to your typical order size.
Can you match my factory color or a discontinued classic car color?
Often, yes. We've matched many original factory colors for 50s, 60s, and 70s classics — start by browsing our restoration paint colors, and if the match isn't there, submit a custom color match request with your paint code, spectro reading, or physical sample.
How is hazmat-classified paint shipped?
Automotive refinish coatings are flammable and ship by ground only — no air shipping is permitted under DOT regulations. Smaller orders move via ground parcel in DOT-compliant packaging; larger volumes and drum quantities go LTL with the appropriate hazmat documentation.
What's your return policy on paint products?
Because paint is a regulated hazmat material, returns are evaluated case by case — unopened, unmixed product in original packaging is the most common eligible return. Mixed or tinted product is generally non-returnable. Call (601) 928-5197 or email info@urechem-paints.com to start a return.
