The 1967 Pontiac GTO went through several changes from its previous years. On the exterior side, the tail lights were replaced with four tail lights on each side, the GTO emblems moved to the chrome rocker panels and the grill started to share some chrome.
Under the hood, the 1967 Pontiac GTO replaced the Tri-Power carburetion system with a Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor. Additionally, the 1967 Pontiac GTO was fitten with new safety equipment such as an energy-absorbing steering system (vibration reduction) and four-way emergency flashers.
As for the transmission, the two-speed was bumped for a newer three-speed (TH-400). The TH-400 was able to be used in Automatic or Manual mode (dubbed the His/Hers shifter).
More than 80,000 1967 Pontiac GTO’s were sold before production stopped.
