The 1964 Pontiac GTO was first released to the public in 1964. GTO, which stands for Grand Turismo Omologata, was actually an option of the 1964 Pontiac Tempest LeMans. A few changes helped to separate the two packages, included a stronger, more powerful 389 V8 which put out 325 HP.
