Introduction
The iconic 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air swooped in and immediately won the hearts of car enthusiasts in Autumn of 1954. It came in six body styles ranging from a four door wagon to a sporty 2 door with a convertible option. There was also a V8 engine option, which was the first time Chevrolet offered this since the 1918 Chevrolet Series D.
Not much changed between the 1955, 1956, & 1957 body styles, earning the Chevrolet Bel Air, 150, and 210 the nickname the "Tri-Five". According to Wikipedia's article on the 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air, "Collectors will pay a premium for two-door models, and even more for the Bel Air version, especially the two-door hardtop (two-door, no side post). Today, 1955 Chevy two door hard tops command top dollar".
